To maintain your fillings you should follow good oral hygiene practices and visit your dentist regularly for cleanings. Additionally, make sure to brush with a toothpaste containing fluoride, and floss at least once daily.
If your dentist suspects that a filling might be cracked, he or she will take x-rays to assess the situation. If your tooth is extremely sensitive, you feel a sharp edge, you notice a crack in the filling, or a piece of the filling is missing, call your dentist for an appointment.

Dr. Khan is personable and meticulous. You know you’re in good hands when you’re in his chair. I was referred to Dr. Khan for a 2nd opinion after I was told I needed an extraction on my back molar. He was able to save my tooth with a filling, so I’m a happy camper. The office staff, hygienists and assistants are fantastic as well. Dental work is never fun, but I do enjoy going to their office. The first time I met him I had an old filling that fell out that needed a crown. Who wants to initially meet a dentist with that urgent problem? The office got me right in and he explained the procedure completely. Insurance benefits spot on through his billing department. No surprises. Dr. Khan makes you feel comfortable in the chair before starting. Never needing that kind of work before I can say it was painless.
